Child and Adult Support Team
Created in 2003, the organisation aims to support communities experiencing difficulties and decrease emotional and psychological distress. Although the work started through delivering humanitarian aid to orphaned and abandoned children in orphanages in Romania, they now support communities of people across Eastern Europe, India, Uganda and the UK (particularly Manchester and Cheshire).
Supporting the work of local governments, charities, youth groups, and independent out-reach programmes which aim to improve peoples' lives, CAST work with non-specialist and student volunteers of all ages and from all backgrounds.
Since 2003, CAST have been developing effective interventions which are delivered by volunteers to support people who require help and support. The volunteer network consists of over 400 volunteers from a variety of backgrounds.
CAST would be very grateful of donations of your time as a volunteer, any sponsorship you may be able to offer, your skills which you think may be relevant, or any multi-sensory toys you could provide for the children with developmental delays as a result of their institutionalised up-bringing.
